1. The one-paragraph summary

Retro Film Emulator is a static website that runs entirely in your browser. The photos you edit are processed locally with JavaScript and the Canvas API. They are never uploaded to any server, never stored by us, and never visible to us. We do not require accounts. We do not sell data. We do not track you across sites.

2. What we do NOT collect

  • Your photos. They stay on your device from the moment you pick them to the moment you export.
  • Account information. There are no accounts, logins or profiles.
  • Payment information. There is no payment system on this site.

3. What is stored on your device

We use your browser's localStorage for two tiny preferences: your chosen language and your favorites list (which tools, presets and articles you starred). Both live only in your browser and are never transmitted anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes them.

4. Cookies and advertising (Google AdSense)

This site plans to display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites (personalized advertising), or to serve non-personalized ads. When you first visit, our cookie notice explains this and you can accept or decline. You can also control personalized advertising in your Google Ads settings, or decline cookies in your browser. Our cookie banner is our honest disclosure; we implement no other third-party trackers.

5. Third-party services

The only third-party service involved is Google AdSense (ad delivery). Google's own privacy policy governs how it handles advertising data. We do not control or store that data. If we ever add analytics, forms or other services, this policy will be updated before they go live.

6. Children

This site is a general audience photography tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — and because the tool requires no account and no upload, there is nothing for a child to submit to us.

7. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, most data-protection rights (access, erasure, portability) are satisfied by design: there is nothing stored. For any question about this policy or our practices, contact us and we will answer within one working day.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be announced on the homepage. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
